Lunch Direct carefully selects Chefs who meet strict guidelines that have been established to provide quality hot nutritious food to preschool students. These chefs:

  • operate commercial kitchens that are routinely inspected by local health departments and consistently receive top scores for cleanliness and food safety
  • are established caterers who are licensed to operate in the markets they serve
  • our caterers are bonded and insured to serve our schools
  • are Serv-Safe certified in safe handling of food
  • follow health and safety procedures such as hand washing, cleaning and sanitizing
  • provide menus that meet or exceed all USDA guidelines for The Child and Adult Care Food Program
  • strive to avoid foods which contain allergens that may be troublesome for children
  • specific questions regarding food content and/or origination should be directed to your caterer or school 
  • provide the preschools with appropriate equipment to maintain food temperatures at proper temperatures
